Emma is a textiles and multimedia artist who designs and makes pieces using discarded items that others might overlook. She explores the idea of combining 'high' art techniques, whilst utilizing 'low' art materials, reworking the discarded into the beguiling, and transforming the forgotten into the extraordinary.
Drawing on her training in both fine art and theatre, her work delves into themes of intrigue, impact, and illusion. Her innovative artwork combines hand embroidery and intricate goldwork, beading and embroidery on metal surfaces. She works primarily with recycled aluminium cans, which she burnishes, engraves, and sews, resulting in pieces that invite deeper reflection.
